Saturn winter barley is a 6-row awned feed barley that has been the first winter type to exhibit winter survivability in Montana. Saturn has a large advantage over a spring barley by the potential of having double the yield. MSU uses Saturn as a check in many of their winter barley research and has been the top yielder in trials across the state. It has grown across several areas of Montana and has shown
