Fortress is a hard red winter wheat licensed by Montech and with Judee in it’s background. It is a semi-solid stem variety which makes it suitable for areas where sawfly is a significant concern. Fortress performs well across dryland Montana and shows to perform on recrop ground as well. Data from MSU off-station trials in northern Montana show very low cutting ratings along with being a top performer in yield, protein, and test weight characteristics.
