HAY N GRAZE
HYBRID SORGHUM - SUDANGRASS
Hay N Graze is a very tough hybrid that performs well with a large footprint. Hay N Graze is a medium maturity conventional hybrid, that has quick early season growth. It is a valuable forage option for livestock producers, offering high yields, rapid regrowth, and versatility in both hay and grazing systems. Hay N Graze is the northern-most bred and produced sorghum-sudangrass variety, making it well suited for Montana’s growing conditions.
MANAGEMENT TIPS: Rotational Grazing: Use rotational grazing to promote healthy regrowth and prevent overgrazing, according to the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
Fertilization: Avoid excessive nitrogen applications before expected drought periods to minimize the risk of nitrate poisoning.
Dilution: Consider diluting high-risk forages with low-risk forages to reduce the chance of prussic acid poisoning, according to the USU Extension.
